A new year for the Patch

Last night we held our Annual General meeting
Ho hum....boring you might say.....but we know how to have fun!
Loris has been our President for about 76 years
well, not really that long but she says it feels like it!
Anyway, now she's stepped down from this duty and was rewarded
with the gift of this quilt for services rendered.
The members all contributed in making scrappy circles
just incase Loris ever wanted to make "Circles" a display theme one day!!!

Then we all listened enthralled as our guest for the evening,
Isabel regaled us with the story of her life!
She's such a wonderful speaker and the tales of her life on a station
and the work she did for distance education was fascinating
After all the formalities were over we had a bit of "Shantelle" and the crowd was blown away by Sadie's over achieving with her Kaliedoscope quilt. This is the front!
and this is the back!
Can you see the Paparazzi were swarming in to get great shots of this masterpiece?
So now it's on for another year with The Patch,
newish committee,
lots of fun things planned
and plenty of fabric needing cutting up!

A BIG thank you to our outgoing committee, your contribution to our Club has been appreciated by all members. A much deserved quilt given to Loris for all your hard work not just over the last couple of years as President but as a valued member of our Club! Now you will know why I was 'reluctant' to give you the pattern to the circle quilt. Well done Sue for nominating as President. You have my support and PLEASE don't hesitate to ask me anytime if you require help! Helenxx

Congratulations and welcome to the incoming office-bearers! and thank you for all your hard work to the outgoing committee. Without your commitment to the running of the club, we wouldn't have the clubrooms, equipment and activities that make patching and quilting such fun! We have a happy, chatty group, that is attracting new people and that makes us great!
