Small is sometimes great

We had a small number of members at the meeting tonight, it was cold and the lurgy has struck town keeping plenty inside nursing their sniffles

but we did have a lovely selection of "Show & Tell"
Loris brought back her magnificent hand dyed silk quilt, it's so huge we couldn't fit it all into the photo!
and she showed this sweet little "Jelly Roll" quilt.
Gloria had a lovely flimsy in sea colours
Ros, a whole set of Japanese place mats, aren't they gorgeous?
 Linda brought these cheery chicks.
Sadie is the first to finish the "Doll Quilt" challenge. Well done Sadie with this beautiful little quilt.
Muriel made this bright quilt for her lucky grandie.
Mary amazed us all with her latest collection of finishes.
A Jelly Roll Quilt
 A Granny Square table runner
and these adorable little cotton reels.
Of course they are all fabulous.

A wonderful friendship day

What a wonderful day we had at Sadie's.
Such good company, delicious food and the chance to see such wonderful textile work. Thank you Sadie for your generosity and friendship... I'm sure we all went home full of inspiration.

A few snaps to share

Our latest meeting at the Patch had some yummy quilting to show.
Here's a gorgeous little picture Loris did at a workshop in Melbourne.
Sadie is showing Jenny how far along her hexie quilt is coming
Muriel is whipping up more kids quilts for her market stall

Teena, made two table runners and a mat from her Kaleidoscope pieces

Barb has made a very useful bag for all her equipment

and Helen is showing her finishes
Her Kaleidoscope quilt

 This cute little Christmas quilt

and her very SPECIAL gift from her daughter Alyce
This magnificent quilt featuring all the places they have holidayed together.
The fabrics have been hand dyed and embellished with lots of wonderful stitches
and details.
Alyce is a clever and talented girl,  obviously taking after her Mum in that regard!

A new year for the Patch

Last night we held our Annual General meeting
Ho hum....boring you might say.....but we know how to have fun!
Loris has been our President for about 76 years
well, not really that long but she says it feels like it!
Anyway, now she's stepped down from this duty and was rewarded
with the gift of this quilt for services rendered.
The members all contributed in making scrappy circles
just incase Loris ever wanted to make "Circles" a display theme one day!!!

Then we all listened enthralled as our guest for the evening,
Isabel regaled us with the story of her life!
She's such a wonderful speaker and the tales of her life on a station
and the work she did for distance education was fascinating
After all the formalities were over we had a bit of "Shantelle" and the crowd was blown away by Sadie's over achieving with her Kaliedoscope quilt. This is the front!
and this is the back!
Can you see the Paparazzi were swarming in to get great shots of this masterpiece?
So now it's on for another year with The Patch,
newish committee,
lots of fun things planned
and plenty of fabric needing cutting up!
